Lake Tahoe 2022

On our way . . . Only took us about 5 1/2 hours… I don’t even know how that is possible but way too long! We did not leave until around 2 or so … probably too late… stopped for Subway dinner. Pretty smooth traveling with the girls considering how long it took.
Fun late night wherein the power went off and I showered in the dark: ) Came back on around 12:30 and both of our side lights came on and I was half in and half out kinda dreaming that a toddler was shining a flashlight in my face talking. Mason talking downstairsπŸ˜†
So no one slept well the first night, but that is how it goes & it was kinda fun to use the lanterns and flashlights that Grandma and Grandpa are very prepared with ;)
Plus it calmed down the house and forced us to bed earlier.

These two ❤

LAKE early in the morgen.  Michael did the paddle board! I was shocked when it happened and told mom not to “spook him” when we saw he was going to do it;) He said it was funny we were all saying how sweet Brett was to help him but when he came back he later told us Brett said “I’m coming for you” and bumped into him on purpose πŸ˜‚
Sophia got Gwinna to stand up on the paddle board for a moment.  Scaredy faced;)
Me & Michael took the kayak out a couple times.  It was lovely and peaceful. I took Sia out once too and she is so brave and a hard worker, she wanted to paddle with me the whole time! It was awesome & so much fun! Noelle worked hard the whole time with the boys building castles and trying to get a moat going to fill it up.  Grandpa was not satisfied with my burying Sia with sand so he got up and fixed my work πŸ˜‹❤

So this was fun.  Boys pulling down a tree while Grandpa sawed it. Eli wanted me off the balcony because he was nervous, which I appreciated but I did not get a video of them running away after they pulled.  They planned where to run & moved debris out of the way so they wouldn’t fall doing it.  Michael came in saying it was an adrenaline rush and one of the most fun things he’s ever been a part of!

Truckee shopping. We got plenty of olive oils and honey! Grandma got some amazing  yarn for Gwinna girl & then Drunken Monkey time for dinner!!! Too much fun at the kids table with Eli & Alayna:)

I joined them for a few minutes after I took this & did not last until it was finished. They finished right after I went to bed.

Sacrament meeting in the living room on Sunday morning. Eli shared a good little story and bore his testimony and the boys blessed & passed.  Perrin distracted me most of the time and wanted bread and a “little cup” of water :)

Precious is precious.  We enjoyed having her around in the house;)
After sacrament me, Michael and parents went to finally check out their property! YAY! It was really great to see their energy and excitement for it all when we were on our way and hiking all around it.  We also walked across the street to check out a tiny cemetery.  Tweedlman and Twaddle…two separate last names…Irish.  Funny.  We also walked to their future neighbors home and mom realized that their gates had come in. So funny just checking things out.  I was cracking up at her:) They haven’t moved in yet but it still felt a little odd to be walking on their land. Ha!
We stopped on our drive back to check out a grandfather clock, get some sandwiches & monsters at a shop with very inappropriate things for sale 😝 (dad kept finding the worst ones!), found a present for Sia that I’ve been wanting to for a while, and to an antique place to pick up a gun:) And the parents drove us by some amazing homes that they have been checking out for the past few years, picking their favorites.  Good time.

Crafting was so much fun! I kept going back out to work on my pinecone wreath and poke my hands a million times. I even got a splinter.  Dad picked it out for me and said my tweezers are an off brand because he took half of my skin with it πŸ˜› It’s true.
The girls created some fun things & the mini canvases were the most popular! Handprints, pinecone painting and me & Soph tried making a fun game of things for the blonde twinsies!

This moment lasted for about two minutes, which is why I got a quick picture of it.

I had Noelle smile for one of these pictures but it was a forced one so this is more true to life. Nervous coming down the stairs outside:)

We made a mini fort for Sia & Perrin. Perrin kept referring to it as his cave in the cutest little voice.

A little Toy Story time.

Dominoes! Boys just want to knock them all over;)

By Noelle

We had pesto pasta for dinner & mom made Kristen’s sauce too! ALL YUM. A great salad and there was always plenty of fruit to go around.  Mudslide ice cream for dessert. Yum.  I always forget how amazing it is and have only ever had it at the parents house or the cabin! These shopkins drawings are just a few that were in Noelle’s video for the talent show. She has been working hard to draw 80 of her shopkins over the past couple of months.  So awesome.  Sia danced & did a few gymnastics moves in it…hard with hard floor to do what she would like to, but still great.  Grandma & Grandpa shared their talents through making us all little jars of emollient, coconut oil creations.  Smell & feel so good.  Also mom made us wood hair barrettes…so pretty!

Oh! I didn’t get a close up of them but candy jars were fun this year too.  Gwinna got to help with recording guesses:) I won kumquats … tied with Alayna and we both had to pick a new number. Gwinna won the Swedish fish which she was so happy about! Sophia won the jar we brought with airhead, sour rainbow strips in it…of course Brett was so happy about that :) I don’t know who won it but we all sat around eating the peppermint taffies one night…taste like Christmas;)
Dad won the rainbowed m&ms which made sense to all of usπŸ˜„

A few other things:
πŸ’šWe voted molasses cookies (sorry Eli) for this trip and it was the right choice, except I did eat way too many! BUT YUM! Thanks mom!
πŸ’šI got Eli & Alayna to take a sip of my pre workout on the beach and Eli liked it … Alayna not so much… not a cherry fan…good to know:)
πŸ’šMy feet and hands were so swollen the entire trip. Eli said likely the heat because I am so used to living in my 67 degree weather house…I never cooled off there;)
πŸ’šGwinna is hilarious.  She now loves the NATIVE shampoo, conditioner and body wash and asked me to buy all three.  She has also informed that when we move to a new house she would like a small, rounded shower like the one at the cabin AND the shower head! πŸ˜‚
πŸ’šThe tile in that shower makes me dizzy! WOW…even crazier bathing in it by lantern light! Hehe.
πŸ’šPoor Grandpa had to plunge on this visit.  Sorry dad πŸ˜…
πŸ’šI am no good at foosball.  I cannot think fast enough! Fun to try with my girls though;)
πŸ’šTanner is the squishiest & has the greatest laugh and he did pound it and high five with me once & laughed for me a couple times! YAY!

JULY

HALLOWEEN TURNED 3!
Noelle “made” him his traditional “cake” of his kitty food decorated with crunchies;)
And, of course, a hat…that he did not love.

We got him his very own basket too. We love this boy.

Rise of Gru movie with Uncle Don:) This was a fun day.  We played California Dreamin’ in the car on the way to the theater…Beach Boys version of course, because … Stranger Things and Uncle Don was really hilarious and so much fun to watch rock out, drumming on his knees and really getting into it.
Girls loved it and laughed so hard:) The movie was hilarious and fun too and I found myself laughing at all the same parts as Uncle Don did :) hehe.

July 3rd. Michael filled in for Amy, teaching Sunday school and Soph got this picture:)
Cute Mason wanted to be held. Then Soph offered to take the girls after church for a few hours while we finished the final episode of Stranger Things 4! It was wonderful! Uninterrupted fun :) hehe!
Thanks Soph.

4th BREAKFAST. Looks a little weird. Ha!

Crafting…

Swimming at Tia Stephanies.  I live in the hot tub for hours on this day every year…with a Mountain Dew and strawberry dessert made by Darla:) love it.  We also watched The Sandlot, had some oven s’mores (after Ham explains how to make and eat them “smalls!”, worked on legos, my Dobby crochet project, and Michael made us meatballs and purple roasted potatoes for lunch.  YUM.

When we came home after fireworks the night was CRAZY & LOUD!  Tons of illegals again, this year.  The girls were slightly freaked out and Noelle said this right before bed “you know what might be better than fireworks for the 4th of July. Donut rain.” Hehe.  Fun and sticky!
The night after the 4th we started watching Stranger Things with the girls.  Gwinna has been so curious about it all.  We have it EXTREMELY filtered through vidangel for them and it is so much fun! They still get the great story line without the violence, swearing, and creeper images.
Two days after 4th Noelle got sick, then Gwinna, then Sia … like clock work, it seems…family get together..sick two days later…oh well.

GET AIR with these girlfriends.
Kinda fun because Gwinna walks with me and chats when she gets tired now.
She’s not a huge fan of jumping.

Tried to recreate this moment in Grover Beach from 6 years ago!!!!

Sometimes we go outside…

GWINNA’S 10TH BIRTHDAY.
We stayed home for this, as we usually do, but all girls were kinda sicky still for it so we had to too.  The girls always pick the best gifts for each other…imma just stop buying anything:) Gwinna got donuts for breakfast, and chose all of our meals for the day.  Aunt Lili made the coolest card ever for her!
So detailed & amazing.  I don’t know how she does it!
Tia Stephanie and Tia Sophia came over one right after the other, it was like they planned it! Good timings. Good time popping purple confetti balloons all over the place.
My Gwinna Jovee is funny.  She picked out 3 of the 5 gifts I got her… she prefers not to be surprised. πŸ˜†

The BEST summer puzzle from Grandma!!!

Letters and art from our sweet Remi & Jet!!!!

Other happenings of the month:

How cool is Sia…she drew out the shirt dress she wanted to create and then did it.

We finally had our missionaries over! Yay! We fed them pizza plus & did root beer floats. Simple & lazy.

Me and Michael spoke together on the 17th.  Always a stressful moment but it went well.  NOT stressful for Michael at all.  I also had to teach that Sunday because I temporarily switched with Bree;)

And then of course reunion in Tahoe!!!! WOO!
