MAY

May has felt like such a busy moment…a long month but it FLEW! Last month of school, Mother’s Day, Mama’s birthday, Tia Sophias birthday, Monterey, 3 Fresno trips, LOTS of home edit-inspired organizing, 2 movies with Uncle Don (The Secrets of Dumbledore & Doctor Strange) oh! And Downton with my mama!, getting organized for homeschooling, Johnny Depp trial (which has been a lot of fun to watch, actually!) and of course Stranger Things first half of season 4 that we finished in a weekend!!!

Monterey for Mother’s Day weekend.  We did not plan ahead so we ended up eating at a little coffee place for breakfast (happened to have awesome burritos!) & Ghirardelli for lunch.  Thomas Kinkade gallery for everyone to pick their own piece and get a fun sketch by Dirk! Very cool.  Sweatshirts.  Right before the beach picture there was a flash of crazy sprinkling for about 5 minutes!  The Monterey Bay Aquarium, finally not requiring masks! Oh and Noelle won the Thomas Kinkade signed Cinderella print! So funny because she said in the end she just circled things randomly in the art that she thought might be what she was supposed to be looking for and later said she thought they were trying to win a new phone!!

Big Brother coming this December!!!!!!

LOVE my new creature magnets from Aunt Lili!!!!

New kitchen art from my mamas portfolio :)

Noelle had a rough day in class one day (missing her cousins)  and she was able to take a break and draw this for the Barrett family ❤

Sweet, fun morning with our Sia for Mother’s Day.  We ate portuguese donuts and mom turned to me and said “I ate that whole thing!” Reminded me of Drew Barrymore… “someone ate my entire pie!” Hehe.

Fun day after school with Gwinna’s bestie Charlotte.

Grandma’s birthday. Complete with a Grogu piรฑata that was awesome because it took quite a few pulls to break it!

Tia Sophia’s birthday:) Purple frosting cake & puzzles for the birthday girl, which she has zero desire to do at the moment. ๐Ÿ˜†

Daddy & Donut day at school. There was a girl without anyone there for her and of course Sia adopted her right into the family for the day.  Poor Michael ended up with shaving cream (nearly in his eye) in his mouth because of this adoption ๐Ÿ˜

Fun day for Sia because it was also “twin day” and she chose to do it with her daddy:)
down to the crazy goosebumps shoes!

We got him a stroller & now he does not stop meowing until we get him outside for a while everyday:)

California bingo game with my girls.

In front of our projector. Gwinna started laughing and took this picture “look! Noelle has a unibrow!”

Fresno zoo field trip with my Noelle baby & her bestie Kennedy.

Fresno temple. Right when I walked out this sweet kitty greeted me.

I got to babysit for a morning while Tia Sophia went to her dentist appointment.  This kid is too much fun.  We found random bubbles which he promptly flung everywhere and he loved chasing our Halloween baby:) We watched Toy Story for 20 minutes straight & it was lovely to snuggle this Mason boy!

Michael took the girls with him to Safeway, Claire’s and then to get (himself) a haircut one Saturday morning.
He texted me this: “Waiting to get haircut. Noelle is drawing Sia. Sia won’t keep her face still.  Noelle says, “Well, you’re just not going to get drawed good!”
And then he texted me this picture of her saying “she wasn’t lying!”

Dress up days
Favorite singer…here we have Sia as Sia, Gwinna as Ariana & Noelle as Grace VanderWaal.

May 31, 2022. Great Grandpa’s funeral.  A windy, good moment.  Mama spoke about her handsome dad & childhood memories.  Sia said she did not understand the flag thing but she felt good that she went and she was trying to hold back tears when she saw Grandma crying.  I did not speak because I didn’t prepare to but I would have said this:
Great Grandpa Ruiz was a man of few words but the words he did speak were always kind, sweet or funny to me.  I have always thought of him as a very generous man.  He gave me a truck in high school for free and because of that I have always felt some kind of connection to him  and a great gratitude for him.  I have learned recently too that he may have been more like me than I realized with his minimalism & organizing habits ๐Ÿ˜Š
I am grateful for his life & service & goodness.

Covenants talk- April 2022 Bingham
LOVE the visual of needing to be belayed and overcoming fear…sometimes we CANNOT trust in life but with our Savior we are assured. It is a certain truth that He will not let us fall in the end. All will be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. This is truth, not simply a nice idea.
