OCTOBER

Journals in OHIO?!
The flight was lovely & felt fast because I watched a long movie- project Hail Mary while MJ read his Batman comics. We were also served a lovely breakfast, at every bit of everything! Sausage burrito, yogurt/granola & a croissant with butter. Yum. Or maybe I was just starving ðŸĪŠ
Airport is older, big, similar to SLC, fancier stores though! A spanx one..odd for an airport. Michael was having fun spotting Bengals logos everywhere! Surrounded by another team he loves!
Drove out in a fancy genesis..too bougie for us & found ourselves on what we thought was a one way windy road (so pretty, lined with fluffy green trees!) I was enjoying & relaxing until a car came from the other side!!!! What!? Not a one way but so, so narrow! Multiple more cars and I was not relaxed. Thankfully not too long of a road…brought us into Newport, Kentucky..didn’t even realize how close these were. Cute little, old-feeling town & then big Cincinnati city! The stadium! Yay, tried to get a picture.
Michael was very excited:)
We had made reservations at our hotel to eat at Subito. Sadly, so NOT great Italian food. Bummed & feeling a bit sick but happy to have a massive tub in our massive hotel room. Funsie.
Next day we worked out, ate simple subways & visited the best antique mall in Cincinnati, or so they claim. It was HUGE, so many vendors, spent a couple hours and found a couple things! Loved this.
We went back to hotel for a bit & then decided to visit the Newport Aquarium. Why do us humans find looking at fish so exciting? Just calming & nice, jelly fish, penguins and a dog faced fish that really did look like a dog face! Cool ones I’d never seen before & it was Halloween themed so I was inspired by that:) so fun.
And THEN we had dinner reservations at a place called Cantina that Michael had noted Joe Flacco frequents & loves & had told the world about on a Netflix documentary! So of course we had to try! So who, to our surprise, was sitting right at the bar when we walked in!? Joe. Kinda fun, MJ leaned over quickly & made me look ðŸ˜‚
This food. I was thanking Joe with every bite! We sat in the coziest chairs in a great spot…I wanted to drink my mole sauce and then to drink my tres leches dessert! Amaze amaze amaze!!!
Game day
Got up, got our workouts in & then lunched early so we could walk to the game with the rest of the Bengals cattle ðŸ˜… pretty city walk, old mixed with modern buildings. I learned I think I’m ok with paint on the ornate details…sometimes. I felt I needed  Bengals shirt (I was wearing MJ’s legaljuice shirt) to be a part of this massive, incredibly loud, giddy party! We got waters & made it into the pro shop & I loved and grabbed the first sweatshirt I saw. Crew neck that I’m totally going to wear now. Michael was happy, taking it all in, pointing out all the players & who came in when & who was the best of the best. We had a very loud lady right behind us. She made me laugh multiple times, He’s disappointed in his Joe Burrow lately & this game did not help!:/ sadly, we did lose. The city felt sad after this. We still ate out again at Cantina though & that helped:)
Last Ohio day.
Supposed to be easy, wake up at 4 drive 15 minutes to airport, food, movies & home…but no sir. Flight gets delayed 4 hours (still in hotel at this point so we get our work outs in ðŸ™ŒðŸž head over at 8:00 instead of 4:30…. Einstein bagels for breakfast & saunter stores, looking hopeful but then delayed again for 2 more hours. Mj upset but I’m like “yay! Let’s get ice cream in terminal A…we trek over to Graeters for me (French pot ice cream..whatever that means) so creamy & amaze. Salted caramel. Yummm. A couple stops by to tell us they sat behind us on the plane over & saw us at the game! How crazy.. I was like “oh wow! You guys pay attention like my kids do in Disney!” They were heading over to terminal A to shop & see. I got compliments on my sweatshirt (Winnie vintage Halloween) & my favorite Target sweats :) I am glad I dressed cozy for this…Birkenstocks with Lils socks! 😍
Supposed to have boarded at 1:05, currently 1:25…don’t remember when we finally boarded but I missed my HOA meeting that night. Funsie.

Spotted my blow mold in The Haunted Mansion movie 😍

Dad did SO many things for us!!! He hung Sia’s cutie Lego shelves, hung my curtains, fixed our bathroom door and added a lock & realigned it, hung my pumpkins on the house, removed a scary nail in our day bed to make is safe, bought & replaced our outside garage lights…fixed a random drawer in our kitchen that I didn’t ask him to! Thanks Grandpa.

Lindon Temple day. Love these kids.

Making my car my own, noticed the bees on my mats!
Such a cute little detail since it’s called the buzz ID bus.

“Dangers” how my cute mama-in-law Isabel says dangerous …

This house was AMAZING! So many great details…just a free, cool Harry Potter place.

ThunderScrooge shoot!

I picked out a shirt at DI for Gwinna that she didn’t want…but then she tried it on 😅💊

We did some crafting this year

Had to run to Spirit week of since Sia’s minion costume was not going to come in time…

TOO FUN to see Thunderstein on the big screen while we ate pizza & all of the things!

Noelle took our Trunk or Treat design to the next level this year! We handed out lollipops & spice drops (yuck…but cute and went with the theming!)

So Michael Joe sent me this link to get tickets for the Sundance ski lift Halloween-themed ride. Well now, he is scared of heights and we are both unfamiliar with how high this would be…ha! Poor guy, had to distract himself with cat videos so that he wouldn’t freak Sia out with his internal freaking out!!!
OH AND THEN on the trail coming back to the car there were creepy characters along the way and Noelle was freaking out, so mad that they got in her face. Gwinna told the clown, “my sisters crying” so he just stood there while we passed, thankfully! Oh dear. Not on my family’s good side this night 😂
OOPS. Now we know…and I need to go back for some shoppings!

Highlights of Halloween

“This is the candy of my dreams!”
A little girl talking about the rock candy sucker!!

A boy singing crew ( one of them carrying a chair over his shoulder!) performing “give us your candy” & then sheepishly bringing out their fake guns ðŸĪ

A teen asking who we think his friend is. I immediately knew Happy Gilmore with his driver & plaid oversized, open shirt with a white t shirt underneath. They were shocked and impressed & said they’d been to 7 houses and no one else knew!

3 boys (younger teens) all dressed as flying squirrels. Loved that.

People knew who I was!! Mostly parents but some teens too:)

One teen girl told me my decorations were her favorite of the night.

So many people commented about & LOVED the pumpkins Sophia carved for me:) I always gave her credit :)

We ran out of candy around 8:40 & we started with 972 but also added blow pops to that, so really even more! I did tell a lot of moms and dads to take some too. Over 900 trick or treaters for sure. Crazy. And then 2 more doorbell rings after 9. ðŸ˜…
More than last year I think but also seemed to be more spread out groups which was nice.
